CASTOR Custom Tuned VHF/UHF Whip Antenna — BNC

The Custom Tuned CASTOR Whip is built around your operating frequency. It combines a flexible superelastic nitinol element with a protective outer covering and tuning focused on your agreed frequency.

Choose this version when your operating frequency falls outside the standard CASTOR options or when you want an antenna focused on a specific channel.

• Operating frequency: Customer-selected VHF or UHF frequency, subject to design suitability

• Approximate length: Typically 17–21 inches for VHF or 6–8 inches for UHF; actual length depends on the selected frequency and final tuning

• SWR: Less than 1.5:1 at the agreed tuning frequency

• Connector: Standard BNC male; contact us about other connector requirements

• Radiating element: 1.5 mm superelastic nitinol

Compatibility and performance

Custom tuning focuses on the agreed frequency. The SWR specification applies at that frequency; actual SWR varies away from it and with the radio, adapter, and surrounding conditions.

SMA-equipped radios require the correct BNC adapter unless another connector has been agreed upon. Transmit only on frequencies authorized for your radio and license.
